This post is to tell you a little about Flip Flop Travel Shop and me. Being born and raised in Texas. Flip Flops are worn most of year by almost everyone. They are pretty much your main staple in shoes, along with Cowboy Boots, I never go anywhere without a pair with me at all times, so that is where the name for my Travel Agency came from. I became a travel agent 10 years ago. I found a passion for cruising thanks to Friend who invited me to go along on a cruise. I can never not thank her enough for my new, found passion in life.

My niche is Cruises. I am Royal Caribbean Master Certified. I have Autism Specialist training through Royal Caribbean. I am Commodore Status with Princess and currently working on Cunard. My goal when you book a cruise with me, is to provide you with all the information I can. From what you need to pack to how to save you the best money on great deals, and to make sure you are 100% satisfied.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME........

My love for the Ocean, and the peace and tranquility led me to leave my home of over 20 years in Austin, Texas. I packed up put what I could in A Mazda Miata, along with a fifty-pound bulldog in the front seat, and left for Rockport, Texas. I was tired of the traffic, the city life, the stress of my nursing job, and just decided I wanted less in life that was stress related. I had planned to retire at the beach, and just be happy listening to the waves, gathering shells, watching ships and dolphins, and enjoying my new love of Fishing... (Funny thing, I don't eat Fish).

So, I hit the road with Reggae blaring, the top down, and we headed to Rockport. We arrived at our Cottage on Fulton Beach Road, grabbed some food, a bottle of wine, unpacked and sat on the porch watching the sun go down over the bay, thinking all along that this was paradise. I was already planning my next cruise adventure. I could not believe I did it. I moved. I worked 13 days straight, we evacuated on Thursday before Hurricane Harvey hit on Friday. I was displaced for several months. I came back to Rockport and my cottage was gone. Everything I had put into storage was ruined, which was clothes, and most of my Travel Agent Marketing supplies. Life became an adventure at that point. The bulldog and I lived with people, rented hotel rooms that were open, stayed with friends, and camped on the beach. I had no work, for a few months, so I volunteered, and really learned the travel business. I had nothing else to do but search for work, and occupy my days with something constructive to do. I started taking all of the vendor courses. I won't tell you I am the best travel agent, because that is not true. I am still new to this after 10 years. It is not something I do everyday, but it has become a hobby, and just the thrill of planning a cruise for my family, my self, or my customers. But I have learned a lot, and I am resourceful, and know who to call if I don't know something.

Our Little Beach communities began to re-build and you could see the changes every day. It took a while for the anxiety of the Hurricane to leave. Just when I kind of felt like it was all okay, Hurricane season was here again. Everyone was just kind of going through the motions at that point. I concentrated on travel, living a peaceful beachy life.

I share my life with my Juicy Girl. She is a 50-pound English Bulldog. She is the love of my life, my wine partner, my road trip girl, my beach babe, the one who takes up most of the bed at night. She is sometimes my model for marketing for the Travel Agency.

I am thankful, I have great friends, a good job, and a passion for travel. There is nothing better to me than being on a cruise ship out in the middle of the ocean.

This blog will find you learning about my travel, places I have been, things I have done. Travel Tips, and more. I am sure I will recommend wines, places to eat, and share some bulldog love with you. I am excited to share my adventures, photos and to help you plan the vacation of your dreams.

Walk In Peace, and I wish you lots of love, and Light, and many blessings.

CHEERS!!!!
